Breastfeeding?

Question

If you’ve done it, is it hard? What’s hard about it? 
If you’re expecting and are thinking of breastfeeding, why or why not? 
FTM, just curious because I’m unsure of what I want to do.

I have a love hate relationship with BF. I chose to do it because I had no reason not to and it was free. Formula is EXPENSIVE! 
I had no problems, but daughter had an amazing latch from the beginning and has always been a great nurser. 
That being said, it is very exhausting. I was so tired all of the time because my husband physically couldn’t help me feed her. I was the one who got up all night, and had to deal with her all day. (I chose not to pump) 
I don’t regret my decision, and i am planning on nursing with my second as well.

My daughter is now 12m and she was breastfeed. I loved it and it's was easy for me the bottles were always ready lol just pull down your shirt. she had a bad latch and we had to use a nipple shield, but that saved my nipples..she eventually learned to feed without the shield at 3m. i also pumped a lot in the beginning to store my milk for when my supply would drop during AF.. It really decreases after you get your period back.. the only reason I made it to 12m is my storage back up....all I can say is pump pump pump...

Not expecting yet but TTC, and definitely plan to breastfeed. I hope to exclusively BF for as long as possible! Reasons are I just want that connection and private time with my baby, as well as saving money on formula, hopefully a stronger immune system for baby, and the overall benefits of BF. 👍🏻 i also hate the smell of formula and the powder everywhere from spills and all that 🤢

Prior to pregnancy, I did not want to breastfeed. I just always felt it wasn’t for me...
About 6 months into my pregnancy, I decided I should at least try. I ordered a free breast pump through insurance and decided I’d give it a go. 
It felt natural and I wasn’t weirded out like I was prior to having a child. 
But, the first few days in the hospital and the rest of the first two weeks were awful.. it hurts and it’s exhausting. Luckily my LO did a pretty good job at latching, but it destroyed my nipples. 
The first two weeks are tough. But if you can get through those 2 weeks, you should be ok. 
I also pump and bottle feed as well.

Breastfeeding came very naturally to me, but was emotionally draining. All 3 of my babies latched easily and fed well. That's not the case for everyone. I am planning to breastfeed again with my fourth and hope it goes well again. You never know for sure, every baby is different.
