Confused first date HELP

I met a guy online 2 months ago we connected very well and we were flirting politely until we met this last week end.

He was a real gentleman, he invited me to his house, cook me dinner, gave me a gift he bought to me a month ago when he was on travel. He gave me a very nice massage. I even had breakfast in bed!! He was very nice and very caring. I never met a guy who did treated me like a princess!

Anyways that night we had sex (like very good sex).I never have sex in first dates I am used to always take things very slowly but with him and that night it felt right so I did it.

The problem is that after we had sex we were talking and he said that his last relationship hurt him bad so he’s not looking for a very very serious relationship he can’t handle it for now.

I didn’t realize what he said until I went home. Did he friend zoned me? does he think that I’m becoming his sex friend?

We are planning to see each other again and we keep talking like we were but I’m very confused because I never had sex in first dates so for me having sex= being together.

I wanna talk to him about it but I’m afraid to scare him I don’t know how to ask him I don’t want to sound weird.

Should I confront him or give time to our relationship to develop?

Please girls help me see things clearly because I’m very confused I like him a lot so I don’t want to let my paranoia( if it’s the case) ruin my chances with him.
