Acne help!!

Hello lovely ladies, so ever since I started taking my birth control (about five months ago) my acne has torn apart my face, my sides of my face have not been clear in months and I have tried every tip I can think of with proper spacing out (as to not irritate my skin) and ever time something even minimally works I get really happy and I stick to the routine but in a matter of days my face is back to terrible, large, painful acne!! I am honestly out of options and I feel so helpless and I don’t know what to do, I can’t afford to go to the dermatologist and I physically cannot deal with my face anymore, help 😭
