traveling with baby

A friend of mine has asked me to be a bridesmaid at her wedding which will be in the Dominican Republic in May. My LO will be 7 months old and I'm considering leaving him behind with family because 1) I am worried it will be difficult to get bottled water to make bottles with (I plan to be done breastfeeding by then) 2)He won't be walking yet so we would have to bring a stroller or carry him everywhere and 3)He's too young to deal with that much heat and sun. The problem is, I feel so guilty leaving him behind! I know he won't remember it, but I will miss him a ton and if he is still a terrible sleeper I would feel bad asking someone to take care of him. Has anyone travelled with a 7month old? How did it go? And how did you deal with the problems I described? TIA!!
