My Oct 18/17 Baby girl birth story
I thought I would finally share. this is my 3rd child
it was Monday Oct 16 night when I realized that my what I thought were false contractions weren't going away. After calling the nurse I was told to wait a few more hrs that was at 8pm and it had already been 3hrs so I waited until 11pm I was then told it was totally up to me as the hospital was 1hr from my home. at 12 am I finally decided to wake up my husband and go because I felt it was the right thing to do.
When we arrived it wasn't until 2am the Dr came to check on me but I was only 3cm dialiated and I was to wait even longer she kept checking on me every hr with no change. By 5am with no change I was requested to walk around for an hour. Still with no luck I was met with the Dr again she admitted me anyway because the babys heart kept dropping after every contraction.
I was given fluids and put on rest in hopes that the babys heart would stop dipping. That did seem to work but I was still only 3cm dilated so by now it was 12 pm and I was once again requested to walk this time for 2hrs after which the baby's heart once again began to dip after each contraction and they then decided to induce my labor forcing me to have more frequent and harsh contractions while watching the baby by actually putting something inside my uterus.
By 8pm now being 24hrs of contractions/labor I hadnt slept and the contractions were getting bad I requested. the gas for help but there being no progress with dilation they had already done a ultrasound to see if
there was any fluid loss but nothing the baby was giving everyone hell,So another ultrasound was done this time to look at my baby. They told me the cord was around her neck twice and she was still head down . So the Dr said there is a chance for a emergency c section if she doesn't come soon I signed consent and they prepped. it was 11 pm and the gas I had requested wasn't enough for my pain so at 1130pm I got a epidural but it only seemed to be working for half my body.
Then I knew something wasn't right my body was telling me it was time. I requested the Dr take a look but I was still only maybe 4cm and she left, the epidural lady came in and told me she may have to move the needle if it wasn't working properly from the time the Dr checked me to when the nurse told me this was 5mins and right then I felt it.
That moment you know your body is pushing all on its own and it hurt more then i remember. I cried out to the nurse that this was it I was pushing and there was no stopping it. Another nurse said the Dr just checked me I knew this but there was no denying what was happening. I told her I'm pushing I'm pushing, so the nurse ran to get the Dr again and the other said hold it for the dr. I couldn't tho it was like I was being taken over The Dr rushed in checked me out and called over my husband because it was time. 12:05am my 3rd child was born sunny side up with the cord around her neck which was quickly slipped off. The said she seen babies sunny side up and cords around their neck but together was very interesting to her. I thought you should've been there for my first she was born still in sack lol.
