Ex boyfriend reaches out what to do

Ok so my ex and I broke up it’s been a year and over the holidays he reached out I didn’t respond until he recently sent me a message and I finally asked him why is he trying to talk to me again after a year of him being MIA I heard nothing from him he was off the grid. He said that he missed me and wanted to see how I was doing.. of course any ex would say that. I don’t know how I feel about him our break up was not the best but for some reason I still want him around. Maybe it’s true what they say if they find their way back it’s meant to be, I just don’t know what to do. I told him I am seeing someone which is kinda true I’ve been talking to this guy for about 2 months but nothing serious. I just don’t want to give up on moving on and miss out on what could be or miss the opportunity to see if we do work out again?? I don’t know what to do any advice?!!! 🤷🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️
