Cheating.

So , I found out from a girl , that my boyfriend of 8 months met up with her and has been talking with her on and off , so he cheated , but I don’t want to give up on our relationship , he says he’s sorry and he doesn’t wanna loose me , and that it was only an online bluff , so I told him that I would try , try to forgive him and to forget it happened , there’s no excuse to why he did it , but he never slept with her or did anything sexual , so is it wrong for me to try and forgive him , I know a lots of people in relationships get back together after cheating or they try to , I just want to try , because I don’t wanna loose him , but I’m so hurt
