Sooo questions about insurance

Last year i had no insurance i got finantial help through a clinic i had to pay them 800 for my prenatal visits and this year i have bluecross and idk how it works:( they telling me i have a 4,000 dollar deductible? I dont get it do i have to pay somebody this money for my insurance to be able to cover my prenantal visits ? I was also told i would get billed for every prenatal visit ? Can someone explain this i think ima just cut this shitie insurance 😔😔
