Happiness linked to Society?

Question

Do you think we’d be happier living in a modern society or living a hunter gatherer lifestyle? Explain why.

Well I have no interest in gathering. I’m cool with advancements. Modern life isn’t perfect, but I enjoy technology and ya know grocery stores lol.

I like both.
The city life is more about convenience and the country life is about peace of mind and time to think.
My grandma lives in the country. Like real country. While she doesn’t hunt her own food I still get a sense of peace  when I go stay there for a while. I don’t mind the slow life. Just not everyday for the rest of my life

Hunter gatherers were more egalitarian which is nice, but I prefer modern dwellings, sanitation, and food security.

depends on the person. for me just being a house wife would make me happy, and my bf would be happy working and bring home the money. while other may feel that they have more meaning at work, I don't. above any dream job the only things I've ever truly wanted to be was a loved wife, and mother. to be thoes two things would mean the world to me

I really don’t think that aspect of society is what determines happiness or not. It could be better one way, it could very, very easily be just as bad. Some things that could increase overall happiness in society are things such as, actual human rights for all people, more acceptance and tolerance, systems of government that are completely corrupt, all sorts of things, and many aspects of society that affect whether people are happy or not wouldn’t be hugely affected by if it was in a modern society like we have now or a hunter gatherer society. The problems would still exist.

I enjoy a fine mix of the two. I rarely ever buy meat because we hunt our own food and we’re hoping to start a garden one day. I also love living in the country. On the other side I still very much enjoy not having to cook dinner when I don’t feel good and just going into town to pick up dinner.

Less neurotic yes. Happy? I don’t know. Depends on your situation in this hunter gatherer world. But you probably wouldn’t have a ton of time to sit and brood over your unhappiness if you were depressed, so...
