spotting 5 days but no period HELP NEED ADVICE!!

i was spotting for 5 days thought i was gonna have a period but never fully came started on the day my period was suppose to come on 1/9 ended 1/14 its started light pinkish brown the first day then brown the 3rd day then to light pink red but bearly noticeable the last 2days only notice when i wiped the whole 5days has anyone experienced this and got a postive result and how long should i wait to test?
