Hey ladies!

My parents live 8 hours away from me. They’re so excited about their first grandbaby!

I need some advice on how to handle the birth..

I know they’ll want to come down when our little guy is born, but I know that once I go home with him, I’ll want a couple days for myself to figure everything out with just my husband.

All of the classes I’ve taken and things I’ve read said to have everyone give you the space you want and need. They also say to take time for you to get to know your baby and adjust to your new life, and enjoy the time alone with your new baby and husband, because it’s a marathon, not a sprint.

I know my husbands parents will be around if I need anything and they’re overly excited as well, and they live 2 minutes from us.

Is it wrong to ask my parents to:

1- come down for the birth, then head home, and come back in a couple weeks when I KNOW I’ll need the help

Or

2- ask my parents to just wait to come down for a couple weeks and not meet their grand baby for a couple weeks...

I feel really guilty!!
