So I've never wanted to do cio so let's be clear but if I don't do something now it can only get worse.

My daughter is just about a year. She sleeps well but wakes in middle of night and wants held, we gave in and she would fall asleep if she joined us in bed. The minute I pick her up and put her back her eyes pop open and she's crying. So we decided for cio but modified. We go in after, 5, 10, 15 minutes and soothe but never pick her up. It goes on for over an hour and she doesn't fall asleep, gone a week now and we cave after an hour. It's torture. Is it possible she can't do cry it out? Any input is appreciated!
