It would depend what you’re protesting. 
For example- The KKK protests other races in positions of power. That’s not patriotic.

I agree and disagree. Some protesting is patriotic. Burning the flag or protesting to kill our queen isnt. But protesting for better rights, freedom of speech is.

The concept of protest itself is patriotic, yes. The country was created on the basis of protest.

The United States was founded on protests (both peaceful and not) and rejection of laws that they felt were wrong. Unless you are Nazi protesting for genocide, then yes, it is patriotic to want to improve your own country.

Protesting against unfair/harmful treatment, protesting for equality and rights, protesting for equal opportunities for all, those are patriotic. 
Why wouldn’t you want the best for your country?

I agree. Our country was founded on the basis of protest. We have always protected the right to free speech. I believe protest is patriotic. Democracy isn’t a spectator sport.

Not really?? I mean, some protests are inherently unpatriotic.. and that’s the entire point and intention of them?

I think the method of protest is also a factor here. Being destructive and violating others rights I wouldn't consider patriotic protests.
