IUI too early?

We had our first IUI this month. My gynecologist allows a “blue collar” method and lets us track ovulation at home. I use clear blue digital ovulation predictor kits and I had high fertility on Tuesday (4 days ago). To make sure we didn’t miss ovulation, we had our IUI on that same day -Tuesday. However, I didn’t get my peak day until today, Saturday! My husband and I have continued to try throughout this week, including today. We probably did our IUI too early though??? Anyone have pregnancy success stories with situations similar to this?
