Nails grow upward? (Ski Slope Nails)

For years I've been getting acrylics and I normally go through 2-3 fill-ins and then take them off to give my nails a break and a chance to strengthen. Every time I get my nails done, they always have this "ski slope" look. I googled it and didn't get much information, but noticed others struggle with it too. Does anyone know of any way to fox this or what's causing it? (My natural nails grow the same way and look the same when they have regular polish on them, so it isn't just my nail tech/application of the acrylics that's wrong). These pictures aren't the best but you get the point I'm sure. Thanks for any info/help!!
