How do you tell a guy you're dating that you're saving sex for marriage?

I'm not opposed to doing other things, I just kind of want to save the main event for my honeymoon. I'm afraid that any guy I tell that I'm waiting for marriage will think I'm obnoxiously old school and want to find someone more "modern" to be with.

If a man truly loves you he will wait for you out of respect. My husband At age 22 was a virgin when we got married. I thought he was lying when he told me Bc hes gorgeous man. Unfortunately I regret that I didn't wait for him.

You will absolutely get a lot of guys that think that but they're not worth being with! If they can't respect your body and the choices you make they're soooooo not worth your time. Kudos to you for knowing what you want and sticking to it! I wish I had waited lol. I would be completely open and honest with anyone that you're interested in dating because there will be some that just want to get into your pants and will move on super quick once they know you're not interested in that. It will save you a lot of time and a lot of pressure to have sex if you just put it out there up front. Good luck!

I would suggest basically saying you prefer not to have intercourse until marriage. That's straight to the point and should also make it known that other forms of sexual activities are possible.

If he turns tail just because you want to wait, then he's clearly not worth wasting your time on. This is coming from someone who has also made the decision to wait--not out of religious reasons, mind you, but out of a personal decision to weed out the unworthy. If you're just looking for a hookup, then you're barking up the wrong tree. Those who are still interested will be so for the right reasons. Remember, you are the one who gets to decide who you give yourself to--nobody else. Oh yea, and you don't have to directly broach the topic, either if that makes you uncomfortable. Somehow, work it into a random conversation about people who just throw sex around like it means meaning--like in a movie, or the licivious people you know, etc. Then, after the segway, explain your views on the matter and gauge his reaction. His reaction (both verbal and non-verbal) will tell you very quickly how he feels about it. Remember, we women hold all the cards, and it's about time we all realize that and act accordingly.
