What are your views on sex before marriage as a Christian?

Personally I think that if it happens the two people shouldn’t beat themselves up about it, they made a mistake and everyone makes mistakes. All they have to do is ask for forgiveness.

I believe it is a sin and that sex really should only happen in a marriage. But, I also realize people make mistakes and believe having sex before marriage isn’t going to make someone a horrible person or tear them away from God like commuting a sin like adultery or murder would. 
Personally, at 18 I believed in God but my faith wasn’t that strong. I got into a relationship with someone that I wasn’t strong enough to say no to. He also put me a position where legally I couldn’t even had said yes (legally it would’ve been considered rape, but I’ve had a hard time really accepting that). After that first time I felt I couldn’t say no and just let it keep happening and even encouraged it. When I found the strength to leave that relationship I was very confused and lost- now I realize it was emotional and possibly sexual abuse, but I didn’t know that then. I also had a very poor support group who discounted my feelings which didn’t help. About 8 months later I met a new guy and slept with him because I felt like the only way to get over what happened was to have sex with someone else and have it be my choice. 
It’s been over 2 years and I’m still with that same guy and I know with very cell in my body that I’ll marry him. He was the one that got me to see that what happened to be at 18 was wrong and never should have happened. He got me the help I needed and gave me the support and love I needed. We still sleep together. Which I do feel guilty about, but I’d feel worse about hurting this incredible man if I told him I regretted having sex before marriage. He’s asked about it before and I’ve seen how scared he is of my answer. Id hurt him because the truth is I wish I’d waited, but I don’t regret him at all If that makes sense. He’d feel like I regretted him and feel like he contributed to my own pain which he’s only ever helped me with. He wouldn’t understand that it’s not about him and I have no way to explain it in a way that wouldn’t hurt him. So with a lot of prayer I live with my guilt. I know I’ll marry him one day and I believe that hurting him would be worse. It’s my mistake not his. 
So yes it’s a sin, but it not the worst sin I could make. I’ll always promote waiting until marriage and it’ll be the mistake I’ll live with for the rest of my life. One I still struggle with forgiving myself for and hope that God can forgive me for it.

Yes, everyone makes mistakes but all scripture is God breathed, unfortunately before I knew Christ I had sex before marriage. If I could do it over I would of saved it for my husband but I don’t beat myself up. I know I’m forgiven.

Coming from a non-christian view point, I think its great if you choice to wait till marriage cause that's what the bible says.But I also don't feel like a christian should be judged if they do decide to have sex before marriage.
Now personally, I feel like waiting till marriage could possibly be setting yourself up for failure... While sex isn't the MOST  important part of a marriage, it is still important and what happens if you marry some one and you don't match sexually? 
They have a high libdo and you only feel frisky like once every two weeks? Youre into kinky stuff and they aren't? 
Repressing your sexual desires and needs isn't good and can be very detrimental to a relationship. 
It is actually one of the leading causes for divorce.
So personally I'd rather have sex before marriage than end up getting a divorce because of sexual differences.
(Just thought I'd offer a different view)
