Regular Period Missed!!!!!

My periods is late. I'm never late and I always start on Thursday nights. I've been TTC and have had regular sex with my partner and every day when I was ovulating. Could I be pregnant? I'm scared to check and see a negative because I might just cry. Is it too early to take a HPT?
