How much of an age gap is too much?

I’m 18 and im crushing hard on a guy like 10 years older than me... that’s normal but the thing is I think he’s into me too! So something could actually happen between us.. is that bad? Obviously I know he’s too old for it to be anything serious I don’t care about that tho. He’s got a couple of kids, but he’s single. I just can’t stop thinking about him 😍 should I ignore my feelings because this is crazy or can I go for it?

Well you have to think about long term, I think. You may say you don’t want anything serious at the moment, but what if that changes? Are you ready to become a step mother? Are you ready to settle down? Is he looking for someone to settle down with? Are you going to school? How will school hours clash with his work schedule?

You’re an adult, no one can stop you, but like someone else said, you should also think long term if it’s something you really want. You may be only 18 and maybe not looking for a life partner, or someone to marry and hell even have kids with, but at his age those are things he’s probably thinking about, and if you’re not ready for that it would cause problems for both of you.

With me I can't date anyone 6+ years or older. Older than that to ME is too old because if you think about it (using your 10 years as an example) when you were 10 he was 20 or when you were 15 he was 25. And I'm GUESSING that you didn't meet him when you were 15 or a minor. But That to me is just weird, but it's up to you.

I don’t think it’s too much of an age gap but more of an experience gap and do you both want the same things at this time and have the same expectations in a relationship. Like he can legally go out and drink and you have yet to experience that. It’s not a big deal(just an example) but you still have three years before that milestone that he had years ago. His relationship goals probably include someone that can help him raise his kids or be that companion that is ready for that part of their life. Meanwhile you still have to get your feet on the ground and learn who you want to be in this world if you don’t already know and have those wheels turning. 
My husband and I have a 7 year age difference but when we met I was graduating from college and had a career lined up, I knew that I wanted kids and marriage and everything soon and we just kind of fit together like a puzzle piece. Us being at the same place in our lives was wildly convenient. Of course every couple is different but just food for thought.

As long as it’s legal, I personally don’t care about someone’s age. Everyone likes different things, ages, etc.

That's a personal decision ans will depend on you. Some say 3, some say 6, and some say up to 20 or more. If you like him and want it to work, go for it!
