When is the best time for first ultrasound?

I’ve had 2 miscarriages previously and I also have a tilted uterus. I’m just wondering when is the best time for the first ultrasound? I kind of want to go at 6 weeks but I’m worried I won’t see anything that early. I’m almost 5 weeks now.

I went at 8 exactly. I have a tilted uterus as well. When he did the abdominal scan, there wasn’t even a sac. I was so upset. He did a transvaginal and this is how it looked...

Here’s a 7wk 3day transvaginal ultrasound of my sweet one. I say wait for 7 weeks because by that point you’ll be able to certainly see the heartbeat even if you slightly miscalculated your dates. I also have a tilted uterus and this showed up no problem :) 
I’m 22 weeks today and hope you get to enjoy a pregnancy soon (rather than experiencing the pain of TTC or miscarriage) - it took us 7 cycles with a fertility clinic for this little one and I’m so grateful for it. A tilted uterus shouldn’t impede your chances unless there’s an underlying issue of scar issue or endometriosis that caused the tilting, apparently that can cause problems for some. That’s what my dr told me. They didn’t see either with mine so they weren’t sure of the cause. I know part of my problem was an undiagnosed thyroid issue. Hopefully all goes well for you soon. I was in the same boat as you with 2 miscarriages. My OB scheduled a viability ultrasound around 6 weeks with this current pregnancy. I was 6 weeks 6 days and we seen and heard the heartbeat at 148 beats per minute. I go in again on the 6th of February to ensure everything is still going good.
