50 effaced and 1-2cm dilated. How much longer? I’m 37 weeks.

This is my first baby👶🏻💗 I had my appointment this morning and my doctor told me that I was 1-2 cm dilated and 50% effaced. I still have 3 weeks before her due date, but could she come early?

Sorry, this is zero confirmation of impending labour. 
You could spontaneously go into labour one hour from now, or you could be induced in 5 Weeks....there is no telling unfortunately. 
They shouldn’t even give these numbers out to women, because it just causes unnecessary stress/anxiety/excitement. 
But, for your sake..:.I hope labour is right around the corner! 
37 Weeks is still pretty early, especially for a FTM. I would expect babe to wait until your 39th or 40th week, but you never know.

I was 1cm ad 70-80% effaced at 37 weeks, but here I am at 39w4d still very pregnant. I’m even dilated to a 4, but baby is still hanging out. I even dilated from a 1 to a 3 in a week and I’m still pregnant. There really is no way to tell when you’ll give birth. All my doctors said I wouldn’t go to my due date, but she has 3 days left... 🤷🏻‍♀️

With my first i wasn’t dilated at all one day, midwife figured labour wasn’t coming any time soon but I ended up having my son the next morning.
