When To Introduce Baby To Solid Food?

First I wondered what is considered solid food? 
What are y'all's opinions?

My aunt in laws brother and his girlfriend was giving their baby bacon and junk food  at a bit over half A year old 😔. They just had another baby and I hope they don't do the same.

I just read this last night. Lots of good info. I was one that introduced solids too early, at 5.5 months. I know someone else that gives their kid sippy cups full of Lipton lemon sweet tea, and the boy is only 16 months old. Definitely do your research people, becaus we don't always realize that we may be doing something that's not good for our kids.

Solid food is anything other than milk. In a healthy baby, I would say wean when baby can sit independantly. We do baby lead weaning, so they start eating when they pick up food and sick it in their own mouths! That's been 5 1/2 months for both ours.
