Pcos leads to upcoming surgery. Advice please!

Erianna

I am 16 years old and I was diagnosed with PCOS around a year ago. After all the testing and all the rough patches I am finally going to have a life change. As a family we decided that surgery was the best option for me in 26 days I will be having gastric bypass to help with all my symptoms and problems. Let’s just say I am honestly terrified. I understand that in every way possible this is the right decision for me and it’s to help me live a healthier life. I guess what I’m asking is what should I expect and how should I approach this upcoming event. Doctors have told me they don’t know how I’m going to react afterwards because it’s so unusual for a younger person such as I to be doing this. If anyone who is going through this or understand how this feels or is going through it now please give me some advice would be much appreciated and would make me feel a lot better about the decision I’m making.

Update: 16 days to surgery and it’s all getting super real for a 16yr old.
