my baby is 5 months old. i asked my mother not to give him any food. she gave him food but wont admit it. i know as his nappies have changed. he is bfe. i found the baby food and baby spoons.

i wouldn't let her watch my child alone anymore. its one thing to give food when you said no but trying to hide it. thats a big no no. if i cant trust the person my baby isnt staying with them

Does your mother watch him during the day or just randomly? If it’s the latter, I wouldn’t let her watch him for awhile. It’s your child. If you don’t want him to have food, then he shouldn’t.

I'd be livid. I don't understand why older people are so eager to give them food early... but my biggest issue would be that that's a HUGE milestone meant for the parents to do!!!! In laws or parents don't get to just step on your toes and do whatever the hell they want.

I'm sorry you are going through this with your Mom. Mine is the same way and doesn't respect rules/boundaries. Do scare tactics ever work for you? My daughter's doctor said not to feed her food until she can sit up on her own. I assume it's so she won't choke.
