I'm seventeen and am sexually active. Is it important that I see an OBGYN or do I need to be older?

I think you need to go as soon as you're sexually active. I wish I would have gone sooner but I was scared of my parents knowing what I said to my doctor

You should get a PAP smear once you  become sexually active. That means you can either see an ob/gyn or your primary.

Definitely go to OBGYN! I've been seeing one since I was 13 because I have ovarian cysts badly and the information and help or guidance you can receive is good. Plus, if you're sexually active a pap smear is a good idea!!

I was 18, that's the normal I think IF you arent sexually active. If you are you NEED to go. You don't want to possibly have something wrong and it wasn't caught early because you didn't know.

Unless you're having issues or become pregnant current recommendations are to have your first Pap smear at 21 regardless of sexual activity. If you haven't already had it, talk to your pediatrician about getting guardasil or another HPV vaccine!
