Self wean??

Baby gets distracted almost every time, will look all around, unlatch. Is this him self weaning or just a phase

How old is your baby? The natural age for weaning worldwide is between 2 and 7 years, with 2-4 years being the average. If your child weans before then it’s most likely been a strike or weaning by the parent, whether planned or not. There are plenty of phases where your baby is too distracted to feed or seems not to want to. This may be due to teething or illness. If you want to keep bf, you can try lots of things to keep promoting the breast at this time, including calm time together, skin to skin, warm baths and showers, babywearing, frequent offering, pumping to keep up supply in the meantime and if they’re eating solids, helping baby get milk by using it in cooking 😊👍🏻

It's just what they do when they start to get more interested in the world around them. Try to nurse in a place with as few distractions as possible or even try a cover and see if that helps. Some women get help with nursing necklaces which could be worth a try.

Not exactly a phase but also not self weaning. Life is just too exciting and they don’t want to miss it. Try being in a dark room with shades out. My daughter does better with a nursing cover.
