I told early. I know plenty of people who told early and have healthy babies.

Yes many people miscarry in first trimester, but people can miscarry at any stage of pregnancy. And of that person is you statistics don't matter.

Unfortunately, the way I see it, whether you tell or not you may have to go through the grief of miscarriage. Other people knowing would be the last thing on my mind.

I think people believe that because they only know about miscarriages that happened after people told about their pregnancy and not the ones where people didn't tell. If you're going to miscarry, you're going to miscarry and telling people or not isn't going to change that.

I told everyone at 6 weeks and had a miscarriage at 13 weeks I suggest waiting until u r at least in your second trimester ... I was heartbroken when I had to tell everyone I had a miscarriage and I was more worried about other people's feelings than my own. Which should never be the case but with my next pregnancy I will make it a point to let everyone known when we pass that stage of the unknown  Good luck to you

Some people are superstitious so might feel like it "Jinx's" the pregnancy, but no, telling people you are pregnant will not cause a miscarriage. In fact in some cultures it's common to not buy anything at all for the baby until after a safe delivery for similar superstitious reasons.
Miscarriage is a lot more common than people think so that might be why you've heard of this.

Depending on exactly how you measure, 20-25% of pregnancies end in loss, and most of those losses occur in the first trimester. There's a tradition of not people early so you don't have to tell anyone about the loss. However, most people who have experienced a miscarriage or pregnancy loss are grateful they told somebody, because then there was support during the grieving period. Also, this allows people to be open about pregnancy loss, so that over time it will become less stigmatized. In most cases, no one caused a miscarriage to happen, and there is no reason to believe that telling people has any effect on it. Try to relax, though I know it's hard.

It can happen but not because you tell people.  I was pregnant in 1999 but didn't tell anyone I miscarried within a week of finding out I was pregnant
