Everyone’s Journey to a have baby or babies is different

Ja

This is my first IVF cycle, I am 41 me and my DH has been married for almost 10 years we both have children from prior marriage. However early on we decided we wanted children together so 5 years ago DH had a vasectomy reversal. We are Active Duty military about to retire with 20 years of service. So while trying to conceive my DH was deployed to Afghanistan for a year. Upon his return we continue to try unsuccessful. Finally we decided to see a fertility specialist where a sperm count was done and found out his sperm motility was below average but his count was good. 4 years ago we tried time intercourse was unsuccessful. Then IUI was unsuccessful since then we have move 3 times and now have 3 different Fertility specialist. Finally in September of last year we decided

IVF

was it and should have went there in the beginning since then I’ve had 4 birthday so I would have been 37 now with my eggs 4 years old lol.. and the chance of getting pregnant slim according to my doctor. So here I am at the tender age of 41 and DH 42 currently at 4 day pass a 3 day transfer. Because of my age we and the doctors decided to transfer 4 embryos ranging from 8-10 cell. I was on the Flare Protocol my medication includes Follistim, menupor, Lupron and of course HCG and now progesterone shot. Keep in mind the military insurance plan Tricare care does not cover fertility treatment period. They may cover some medication like Lupron and progesterone but the ones that cost the big bucks oh no. Anyways, be able to finally be pregnant would be a dream and everything would have worth all the Doctors visits, all the probing, all the needle and every penny. As I lay here I can’t help but to be so in turn with my body. Currently experiencing mild cramps not sure why but hopefully it’s a good sign. There’s is lots of information out there like what to eat, if you should rest after the transfer but if you read too much it seem like they all contradict each other so I wait. My mother from Belize 🇧🇿 Central America a little 3 world country had 13 children natural at home by a midwife all ranging 1-2 years apart until she was 44. She didn’t have all this technology and access to all this special medication it was a gender surprise every time lol. Yes I am from Belize but I’m not saying it should be like that anywhere technology is great. Just hope at least some of her baby making and baby carrying rubs off on me that’s all😂. We are all brave and the best thing we can do for each other is support without judgement❤️❤️

I want to know other story and journey because everyone is different.

How did you got to where the need for fertility treatment is needed?
