I had one done and was a nervous wreck beforehand but luckily I had a good experience. It wasn't painful, just slightly uncomfortable (like when u get a pap) and the procedure is real quick. I had mild (very mild cramping) that afternoon but was 100% back to normal the next day. I didn't event take a Tylenol no need for pain meds. Good Luck!

I did this last year. Not trying to scare you, but I found it very painful. Before your appointment, I would recommend taking a decent dosage of ibuprofen (if you aren't allergic). That might help curb some of the pain.Good luck! Hope the result answers some questions!

I wouldn't call it painful.....intense pressure/cramping but it's very quick. Good luck!

I had one in April and yes it was painful but for 2 reasons. #1 both of my tubes was blocked and the radiologist had to force them open by pushing fluid extremely fast. #2 the little bulb they put into your cervix was accident yanked out. The pain only lasted about 30 seconds but yes it did seem like 30 minutes. I hope everything went okay.

Had mine about a week ago, not painful to me but that also depends on your pain tolerance. The whole procedure is very quick, I was able to watch the whole thing and watch the Dr inject the contrast thru the tubes.  There is moderate cramping when the contrast is injected and after the procedure is finished. About two hours after the procedure I was fine, and didn't take any pain medicine before or afterwards. Good luck to you!

Hi Shannon! I got the procedure done and to me, it was TERRIBLE pain! But thankfully quick! I have a high pain tolerance and that was pretty bad. One the dye was removed I was INSTANTLY fine! Went to the mall after! Lol! And my results were NORMAL :-)
