Do you ever feel lonely as an adult?

Question

I have friends, a husband, loving in-laws and family, but I feel lonely and ignored sometimes... Am I alone in feeling lonely?
​Most of my friends and family are in CO, I'm from there but now live in CA, closer to my in-laws. Facebook helps and hurts because I feel ignored or passed by on there often. Is loneliness normal?

Alone & loneliness are two different things. Living alone for a good deal of my 20's was a wonderful way to learn how to be confident & comfortable in my own skin. I enjoy being alone, loneliness can hurt, but it's a time to give something to yourself

You're not alone! My fiancé is one of 3 and I'm an only child. Meanwhile him and his family own a restaurant. I can't stand the business because I enjoy having a life - we have compromised a lot but I will not give in and make a restaurant a priority. The family is great and I am beyond thrilled but when you feel like you have no one on your side it does get lonely. It's hard to express your positives and happiness for your life but feel respected as to how you feel too.

A lot of the time I feel like I have do things alone and that I ammon my own.  That if Inreally want
​to get  something done that I have to just go it alone.     It is hard fir me to adk for help.

Well, at least you have friends here in the US. I came here 10 years ago and had to leave my best friends back in my country. That is sad, and I really do have a hard time making friends here, so I feel and am lonely most of the time....

I also feel this way . I'm married with a family , but I'm a SAHM with an 11 month old DH works long hours sometimes so I get lonely . Luckily I have my sister but she's still in school so after this summer , it's going to be back to the same ole same ole . Sometimes I feel like the days run together ?
