Discharge but not on period?

I was at school earlier today and noticed something weird down there. It felt like my pubic hairs were stuck to my underwear? I went to the bathroom to check and saw small yellow crispy things a little above my vagina. I also saw clear sticky liquid between the lips of my vagina. It was a tiny amount. I've never noticed/felt this before. I have also not gotten my period yet. Is this just normal discharge and should I get used to it or does it mean something else? I think it kinda stains my underwear so should I wear a pad to capture it?
