FIRST pregnancy: when did labor start?

Question

For you ladies who have done this before, when did you go into labor with your first? If you went into labor earlier than your due date, how much earlier? 
I’m due March 13th and planning to start my maternity leave March 8th. I’m just trying to decide if I should go out a few days earlier. I know I can always change it if I end up going into labor early but I’d rather not have to worry about it during/right after giving birth.

My midwives told me that for first time moms they mentally add about ten days to your due date and that’s almost always more accurate as far as when you’ll go into labor. Hoping mine stays til 40 weeks as that’s the best chance they have developmentally ☺️

I went 42 weeks and 2 days with my first. They say first time moms usually take a little longer

My daughter came on her due date - start to her being born was 5 hours

My first baby came two and a half weeks early. I’m pregnant with my second son, and my scheduled C-section date is March 24th. So we shall see if my water will break early this time around again, or if he’ll stay in there till my scheduled C-section!

I went 2 weeks past my due date and had to be induced, she didn’t want to come out lol

My due date was June 6 and my water broke at 11pm June 4 and I ended up having him on June 5! Wondering what this labor will be like 🤗

With my first I literally had my son at 39 weeks.

I was induced on my due date with my first, but the amount of petocin given to me was very little because I was already close to naturally going into labor. I would say you will be fine as long as you have had a healthy pregnancy with no concerns leading up to your due date taking off on the 8th. I would consult your doctor/midwife once they start checking your dilation at 36 weeks to see what they think.

My first was 10 days late 😒 my second was 5 days early.
