Is no visitors after birth rude?

I’m not a first time mom. 
Last time I had swarms of family and friends coming up to the hospital unannounced. I was so tired and didn’t want to see anyone. 
This time I don’t want ANYONE at the hospital the day i give birth. Do you think that is rude to say to people? 
The second day I’m there I will allow people to come up for a half hour tops. Has anyone done this?

This is our first baby and I’m already feeling overwhelmed by everyone swooping in. We’re doing a home birth instead of hospital, but people are already inviting themselves to stay over and “help.” I don’t know how to politely tell people to fuck off 😅 I want to share this experience with my husband and not worry about five people swarming around me. No one comes to visit the mom, they’re there to scoop up the new baby. I told my family if they show up too soon after, they better come with food and do a chore, they laughed 😑 but I’m totally serious. Don’t tell people you’re in the hospital until after because they’ll show up unannounced again.

I'll be honest, you may not even have to say anything. People were FAR less excited about my second baby than my first. With my 1st, I had 14 people in the waiting room until 2am sitting there the whole time just to meet the baby. With my second, pretty much no one came except the grandparents and next day my sister and his brother popped by. Keep the family busy by helping with your other kid.  So no its not rude, but in reality it will likely just happen naturally.

Personally I don’t think it’s wrong at all. I asked for this as well and had people asking me to make exceptions.... I said yes to a few and no to a few others. But truth be told I wish it was just me, my baby and hubby for a few weeks...

I don’t plan on having any visitors. It’s flu season... If they want to visit the baby they will have to wait until we get settled at home...

It’s your baby... you do what you want. It doesn’t matter what anyone else says. This is about you your so and your baby not everyone else.

I don't think it's rude at all. Just make sure people know before hand so when they do show up (because some people just don't listen) and are told to leave they've been warned.

Lucky for me it’s flu season and no one will be coming to visit us besides parents/grandparents due to hospital restrictions.
I’m so happy to be able to enjoy the first two days with my girl practically to myself!

It's not rude. I know some people will think it is, but I feel that it is your choice. You are the one who just have birth and you should be able to rest for a little while. When I was pregnant with my oldest I posted on Facebook that I didn't want a bunch of people at the hospital after I gave birth. So many took it as met being rude. So only a few people visited the entire time I was in the hospital and even once we got home. I didn't feel bad about it. They are the ones that took what I said wrong. My biggest thing was I didn't want people coming to visit unannounced. That way if I did want to rest I could ask them to come another time.

Absolutely not. I’m pregnant with my 2nd and feel the same way. With my first the waiting room was full and afterwards I was immediately overwhelmed. I don’t want anyone but my SO at the hospital the day of this go around. 
If people are offended, oh well. It’s about YOU, what YOU want, what’s best for YOU and baby.
