Miscarriage question

In March my period was 3 days late. It was a normal period. I didn't have horrible cramps, barely any actually. I had negative pregnancy tests but I had a clot. It was red with a little grey tint. Would I have gotten a positive pregnancy test if I was actually pregnant? I don't think it was a miscarriage because my period wasn't different. I have an appt with my Gyno tomorrow and wasn't sure if I should bring it up
