colposcopy?

I had a pap done after I had my baby and I just got a call back saying I need to come in for a colposcopy??

It's not a major procedure... They'll take a tool that looks like the eye of a giant needle, push it into your cervix, and then pull out a tissue sample. Mine hurt like hell. So be prepared for that possibility. Basically you had abnormal cells show up on your pap smear and they want to do further investigation to make sure it's not something serious. I hope for your sake it comes back as nothing serious but if they hadn't done mine years ago they wouldn't have caught my low grade cancer cells, so it is important.

I had this done with my last son after an abnormal Pap smear . I freaked myself out for nothing. Didn't take long and wasn't painful at all! And everything was normal. Try not to worry!!

I've had it done after my last pregnancy, they do it right in the doctors office, might seem scary at first, but it wasn't at all.. took maybe 30 min? and all u feel is a little cramping
