I don't think that everyone who disagrees with certain aspects of the military "hates our troops" or is a threat. Sexual assault was swept under the rug in the military for decades. I am not a threat to our country because I cannot in conscience support a structure that abuses people.

I am not a threat because I dislike something that shames rape victims, openly shows prejudice and has towards people with different beliefs, and beats the shit out of any LGTBQ people who choose to serve. 
To deny that these things happen is to willfully turn a blind eye to the terrible things that happen. 
Are all military personnel like that? No. Will I support that select few? No. There isn't any way for me to do that so I'd rather not support them as a whole.

THEY are a threat. They raped one of my friends and called her a lying whore and NO ONE helped her. They just brushed yet another military rape under the rug. Until they start doing something (ANYTHING) for rape victims I will NOT support them.

I just don't understand how someone could support troops. I feel sorry for the millions of civilians who get caught up in the middle of these wars and end up dying at the hands of both sides of the troops. I just think there's better ways to serve you country, and I don't think fighting violence with violence or hate with hate is the way to go about it

I'm prior service (Army), and I think the people have the right to feel however they want about troops. I, for one, never hurt, much less killed, anyone or anything. I'm the person who shoos spiders outside to avoid getting squished by people.

I know a lot of people who have some really bad experiences with the military. My sister was sexually assaulted when she was in the military, was shamed for it, her attackers got off scot free, and yes, even after serving, she can't handle being around people in the uniform of the branch in which she served without having flashbacks. I don't think hating the system that failed her and the people and hierarchy that allowed her attackers to get away with what they did makes her a threat. It's a very sad example of the plight of a lot of veterans who have suffered sexual assault, both male and female.

Damn, all these posts about "not supporting rapists." So out of all the people who put their asses on the line to protect our freedoms, just because some decide to be idiots, you are going to judge them as a whole? Teachers rape students...you don't see that profession being bashed on because of it.

My bf was a Marine for 9 years and he never raped anyone. He was proud to serve his country like his father and grand-father before him. It's called honor. 
I'd like to see half the girls on here go and do what they do, see what they see and bear that the rest of their lives all for the sake of our freedom.

Don't wanna stand behind them? Go ahead and stand in front of them.

Everyone's acting like the military is the only place that sweeps shit under the rug.

The military isn't bad as a whole and it's pretty offensive being categorized automatically as a rapist or enabler just for being military.

Individual people are bad. Not everyone.

But what do I know. I'm just one "them".

I've never heard anyone say they hate the troops, which is a incredibly stupid thing to say.
