Anyone else have a phobia of blood or blood draws?
I have a sort of phobia of seeing my own blood (not exactly of seeing it but just having it taken I guess) and I'm terrified of getting my blood drawn as when I was 6 I needed surgery so I had a needle in my arm for blood (which I didn't know that was what the needle was for at the time) It popped off and my blood splattered everywhere I freaked out. I have no problems with shots and get no pain from the needles, it just feels funny. But everyone is acting like my fear is just me being afraid of the pain of needles and that I'll be begging for something as simple as a needle when I find out how hard pregnancy gets and when I'm in labor. I have zero problem with needles and pain! Sorry this just bugs me so much. How can I cope better with blood draws? I was laughing hysterically during my first one as I laugh when I'm nervous or panicky and now I'm just hoping that I don't have to do many more.
