Who has taken Metformin? Would like to know your experience.

So, I when to see the OB doctor to find out why I'm having hard time getting pregnant. Then her, my husband and I talk so she put me on Metformin to help  get pregnant and with my PCOS. Plz tell me your experience on this medication. The dose I'm on is 1000mg day

I was allergic to Metformin. :(
I did get pregnant with Myo- Inositol (kinda like metformin but natural). Took less than a month of using it to work. Good luck and hope the Metformin works for you.

I have had a very bad diarrhea while on Metformin. My OBGYN prescribed that to me but later when I started seeing RE she asked me to stop taking metformin but take Myo-inositol instead. Myoinositol never had any side effects on me

i just got pregnant while on Metformin - 1000 mg a day! Dr first started me out slowly until i got to 2000 mg/day but i felt so depressed and sluggish that i decided to stop taking it. Then went for IVF consultation and that dr put me back on it but 1000 mg/day with the time release version Glumetza. I got hives after a couple weeks on Glumetza so i went back to the regular Metformin but stayed at 1000 mg/day and i feel fine. I guess 2000 was just too much for me.  But after being back on Metformin i got my bfp the next month! Just had a 6 wk ultrasound today to confirm it's in the right spot!!  My OB explai ed that Metformin not only helps level out hormones and insulin levels for women with PCOS but also helps prevent miscarriage for us. So I'm rrally glad i went back on it.  A tip so it's easier to digest: swallow the pill in the middle of your meal.  Good luck!

Take it with breakfast and lunch.... otherwise it’ll leads to stomach upset.... as for a week I took 0.5 hours after my meal... and had upset stomach.... after that consulted with my gyno..., she told to metformin with meal not after that....
It is recommended in PCOD/PCOS for insulin resistance....

I took it for a while and didn’t like it because it (sorry TMI) gave me diarrhea. The doctor I had prescribed it because I was overweight and she said it would help manage my weight.
