Where are you filing your taxes

Turbo tax said they’re free. Well for the last two years they’ve taken half our money we earned just to use it. Where do you file your taxes if you file it online
Is h and r block truly free online

we have used turbo tax for 4 years now. And it's always been free for us. They will occasionally ask if we want to upgrade to certain filing stuff. But at most it's like 200 dollars.

We always go to H&R; Block. It costs money but they just take it out of our refund. We get so much back every year that it really doesn’t affect us financially.

Also, none of them should charge you anything until you are ready to file so you can always go through and see what your refund will be and what the fees are. For turbo tax, if there is a fee and you want to take it from your refund it's an additional $40. I was going to do that since I had to pay for it anyway but realized that and said screw it I'm just gonna pay it instead of wasting $40!

Turbo tax was $70 for me because I have a other things that bump me up into the next category but simple taxes should be free or a small fee. I used h&r; block last year and it was almost $300.

Credit Karma stated they do both for free; state and federal. You should check it out. I normally use Turbo Tax though and never had to pay for either.

Your refund couldn’t have been much if it took half. That’s crazy, but at least it’s a deduction each year. I believe H&R; Block is free to file, even if you itemize, but only for Federal. I think you still have to pay for State.
