Thoughts on finding out gender early?

Had my first appointment today because of a scare I had on Sunday. I got the usual papers and info. They also gave me a thing for testing that can be done at 10 weeks for Down Syndrome and other genetic disorders. She also said that we could find out the gender of the baby at that time because it tests the chromosomes. What are your thoughts on this testing? Would you want to know the sex of your baby at 10 weeks or would you want to wait until the normal number of weeks to find out the sex?
