Did you find out baby’s gender?

My husband and I just found out this week that we’re expecting. It’s our first and I really want the baby’s gender to be a surprise. Hubby is happy either way. I’m curious to hear from others. What did you choose and how? More specifically, if you chose not to find out, how was that experience for you?

We aren’t finding out with our first. Both my husband and I were always set of waiting and it’s been great. We aren’t super “frilly pink” for girls and “red trucks (or whatever)” for boys, anyway, so even if we knew I’d probably get more gender neutral stuff. Obviously we can’t wait to meet our baby, but not knowing boy or girl makes it even more exciting. I have friends that didn’t find out and it was so much fun for all of us, too! Everyone has been so excited when we told them we weren’t finding out, but honestly even if anyone was negative about it I’d tell them to kiss my butt haha

I’m waiting until the baby’s born. It’s what I’ve always wanted to do. I’m lucky with my side of the family that my mom didn’t know either time she was pregnant...so I know they will understand. I know I’m going to get some blow back from my in-laws, but we’re prepared for it. 
There are very few true surprises in life. I’d like to just focus on how we can prepare ourselves and our life for a newborn instead of raising a “boy” or “girl.” 
In particular, I also have a very different idea about how girls should be treated in childhood from my in-laws. My nieces are all princess-obsessed, makeup-loving, image-concerned, prissy and bratty. They’re all under the age of 7 and I can barely stand to be around them...to each their own, but the last thing I want is to tell my husband’s family we’re having a girl and it’s like a Disney princess parade came through our house too lmao.

We chose not to find out with our first (a boy), and now with our second we won't find out until they are born. I liked not knowing, lots of people thought it was nice to have a surprise, it was a little annoying having certain people telling you what they think you are having, but those people will have annoying opinions anyway. I really like having a surprise to look forward to at the end of pregnancy and was a little scared of gender disappointment the first pregnancy.

I wanted so bad to wait until the birth, but I caved. We found out the sex for our first and then when we got pregnant with this baby, we were all “oh yeah we’ll definitely wait.” Nope lol. I was having a lot of issues with bleeding (everything is fine now) and the ultrasound tech in the hospital was really nice to me and said she could tell the sex if it would make me feel a bit better. So we had her write it on an envelope and then read it together Christmas morning. If there’s another baby in our future, I would really like to wait until birth. I think it would be a lovely moment.

We didn’t find out with our first and we’re not finding out with this one either. It’s so fun! The surprise is great! It makes planning simpler because you focus on the big picture. You can decorate with neutral colors and after baby arrives, add in pink or blue. You don’t receive 90% clothes and blankets at your showers, you actually get the equipment and things you need. And I was surprised how many people went and bought clothes and gave them to us after she was born. We save a lot of money because I don’t impulse buy while pregnant. It’s such a fun surprise and so worth it!

We did the Harmony test, it’s part of the NIP testing for Down’s syndrome & it offers gender information on the baby.

With children number 1, 2, 3, and 5 we found out the gender.  My 4th was a surprise gender but I always had an intuition with all of them and I was right.

me and my hubby had our first baby last April and we wanted it to be a surprise. It is so worth it!! people always ask about baby clothes and not knowing what itll be but really you dont need many clothes and you can get gender neutral anyways. it helps push you through labour too haha. i hope you have a good pregnancy and delivery! 😊😊

I knew with both of mine.. I think I might not find out this time .. my only issue is I don't want to buy gender neutral stuff incase it's a girl so I'm not sure how we would work that part out
