Moving to a different state?

My SO & I are from WYO thinking about moving to Nevada in around 6 months, any tips or advice on moving to a different state? This would be my first time moving anywhere out of state and I’m a nervous wreck..

It shouldn’t be too bad from WY to NV. I’m from Nevada (I absolutely love it here), but it can be an adjustment. People’s minds always go to somewhere like Vegas, but most of Nevada is rural towns and cities. Even Reno is pretty small compared to many large cities. I live in a small town in Northeastern NV. We have hot summers, but very cold winters (usually... not this year lol 😂). We have a lot of amenities, but have to travel to big cities for large stores like Costco or something. We’re also a mining community, so there’s some things to adjust to with regard to schedules, but there’s money to be made here, the schools are great, and overall it’s a good community. It depends so much on where you’re planning on moving to within NV, too. The cost of living in terms of regular items and housing differ a lot across the state, but tend to be pretty reasonable. I definitely agree with hiring movers, but that’s because I despise moving more than little else. Good luck!

If you are moving anything valuable I’d hire movers. My husband and I moved across country twice. The first time we did ourselves and didn’t care fore the furniture as well as we should have and things got very messed up. We hired movers the 2nd time and it was well worth the money and peace of mind! Also visit where you are moving to first the look for a place to live and get the excitement up!
