Going home outfit?

Okay soooo why is the "going home outfit" such a big deal? Why can't I just put my son in a onesie and some pants and socks ? People are actually judging me saying "THATS his going home outfit?" Um. Is it supposed to have his name and all that on it? Why is the going home outfit such a big deal? Can someone please explain this to me, please tell me I'm not the only one not wanting to go all out...

I don’t really get it either. & they all look terribly uncomfortable. Our daughter went home in just a footed onesie from Love’d Baby. & this little one will too 😅

Lol my baby ain’t going to have one ... I’m due July 3 so something cool but warm depends on the weather but I don’t really care 🤷‍♀️ to me it’s not a big deal... it’s about a half hour home and then only us will see the baby anyways haha

In my opinion it doesn't matter what outfit you put them in. Most people deem it important because it's their first outfit outside of the hospital, kinda like how people keep their babies' first blanket and first binky

I don’t understand it either both of my babies so far came home in warm pjs it was winter where I live. My 3rd baby I’m pregnant with now will be born in the summer. Probably will be just a simple dress if it’s a girl or a boy short set.

*shrug* I don't get it either. my daughter came home from the birth center in this, it's the same onsie her seven year old brother came home in. so there's sentimental value, but certainly no Instagram ready photos😂
but hey, it was eleven at night, and she was born at seven that night. I was still high on birth!

I don't think it has to be a big deal. I think when you're going home you take tons of pictures so people want their babies looking their best. It's also usually the first outfit you put on them after the hospital gown so it can be exciting.
