You should be having a complex carb before your work out like oatmeal, a banana, or an egg and a piece of wheat toast about 45 min before your workout. AFTER you body needs protein so maybe a boiled egg or some yogurt cottage cheese. Nothing heavy but you do need a protein source after. Your muscles will thank you.
