Jaundice concern

My son is 1w1d old. At his first pediatrician appointment, his jaundice levels had risen since the hospital a couple days prior (but his ped said it was still in the low range of it).

He wasn’t pooping for 3 days so we were told to go in the next day if he still hadnt pooped by then.

He started pooping a lot later that day and now he’s in a perfect routine of waking every 2-3 hours, eating, wetting and pooping a diaper, and then awake for a little or straight back to sleep.

Up to 8 wet and poopy diapers a day now and he acts totally fine.

But his eyes and skin are still yellow. We’ve started getting him in the sun for the last couple of days.

I just want to know if this has happened to anyone else’s newborn? Did it go away or get worse? What did you do? I’m a ftm so I’m worried to death.
