How to discipline 15 month old?

My daughter has been having fits lately and today she bit my finger and cut me. She also slaps my face when she’s mad. I’m stern with her when I have to be. But I’m not sure what to do.

Our sitter suggested a sort of controlled "time out". She's been doing this for 15 years so I'm trying her suggestion. When she starts throwing a fit we tell her no and if she keeps going we tell her she's going to go to her room. We put her in her crib and let her throw her fit, cry, etc, in a safe environment for a few minutes and then we go get her. When we get her out she stops crying, and she'll cuddle up and hug and give kisses. I rub her back, tell her I love her and she's fine. She's been having fewer and fewer tantrums. Still does, but mostly late at night or before nap time, when she's getting tired. She tends to meltdown when she's getting sleepy.

Today and yesterday were horrible. My husband brought out a super old lap top for her to type on because she screamed for an hour because she saw me on ours (trying to gather tax documents🤦🏽‍♀️) I keep telling myself this is a phase, but I’m over phases at this point. I’m excited to be over these leaps and teething!

My l/o crys and throws herself on the floor or she starts throwing things around and yells very loud. What i do is put her in her crib give her a couple of minutes as well as myself because it can get overwhelming sometimes. Once i hear her calm down i take her out and tell her she should not be doing that. It is not nice honestly i think they are starting to understand and figure out how to get things their way. We have to let them know whats ok and what is wrong to do or it will just become a habit.

My daughter does the same thing. She slaps and bites. I usually tell her I’m not going to let her hit me or bite me and then I put her down or move her away from me. I never hit her back or hurt her in any way because then who am I to tell her not to hit. They learn from our example. I also haven’t done any time outs. I don’t think she has a concept of time or will even understand what’s happening. I know when she does that she’s frustrated or mad about something. So I just tell her how it’s going to be and let her act how she wants without hurting me or herself. There’s a really good book I read recently called no bad kids. You should check it out if you like to read. Everyone does things differently so I’m not knocking anyone’s approach, this is what we are doing.

I put my son in the corner for a 1 minute time out if he lashes out or hits/bites. If he throws himself on the floor in a tantrum I leave the room and let him do his thing. It doesn’t take him long to realize it’s not getting him anywhere.

My little boy has got a temper too! I thought I was the only one (I'm glad I'm not!) . He will "hit" me when he's mad but I firmly say no and a slap his little hand (nothing crazy) . Sometimes he'll hit me back and others he'll lay on the ground with his Burt in the air but he won't throw a tantrum or make any noise, he'll be quiet the gets over it and goes off. I need advice too!
