Gifts to older siblings from the new baby??

Okay so my son is good with babies and gets super excited around them. (He Just turned 2) I watched our friends little girl when she was 4 weeks old and our son had daycare that day. She got here before he woke up but when he woke up and saw her he was just infatuated with her. He couldn’t stop talking to her and looking at her. It was the sweetest thing and when he got home from daycare she had already been picked up so he couldn’t find her when he got home and he was so sad but my question is I’m worried it may be different when it comes time to have our second and bring him home. I’ve seen a lot of posts where the moms buy a gift or put together a gift bag of the first child’s favorite things and give it to the child in the hospital as if it were coming from the new baby the first time they come to meet. What are yalls opinions on this ??
