Getting engaged

My boyfriend and I have been together for 2.5 years. A little over a year ago I moved across the country with him. Getting engaged and married is on my mind a lot- has been for a little while. We’ve talked about it a couple times, mostly he says money is an issue or thinks it’s crazy that I’m thinking about marriage already. Everyone I talk to (friends and family) thinks I’m justified in my feelings of frustration. I want an unbiased opinion. Is it too soon? Is my frustration unreasonable?
