Can I give my 11 month old whole milk instead of formula?

I'm a ftm my son is 11 months. I have to go out and buy him formula but I was wondering if I can buy whole milk instead to save money or should I just buy the formula? thanks.

Do what you think is best. I started transitioning at 10.5 months giving him a little at a time... now at 11.5 months he’s on full whole milk. My pediatrician said it was fine, that nothing happens to their digestive system overnight when they turn a year old. He’s had ice cream, yogurt, and other dairy products with no issues so we got the go ahead.

I would wait until your Pediatrician gives you the okay to transition to cows milk. You’ll also like start by mixing the formula and milk so it’s not a total shock to his system.

They suggest you wait until 12 months to start to introduce milk. By then they should be eating 3 meals and some snacks throughout the day. Then you start with mostly formula and a little bit of milk.

I mix 1 ounce in with the rest formula. That way I can start to acclimate her to the milk. She doesn’t seem to notice.

You need to be careful, I wouldn't give my 11 month old cows milk until he's at least a year old or I get the OK to start transitioning him. And you can't just go full cows milk to start, you have to mix it with formula or it can be harmful to your baby's organs. It can be hard on a baby's kidneys because they cannot properly handle the nutrients in it yet. It won't hurt to wait another month or so.
