Stretch and sweep?

How bad does the stretch and sweep hurt? My doctor checked me for the first time on Monday. He described the feeling as "uncomfortable". Actually it hurt like a son of a b and felt like I was being violated by his fingers. Is the stretch and sweep even more painful? I'm nervous! He's trying to get me to go into labour before my due date. If the stretch and sweep doesn't put me into labour then he's going to induce me so I really hope this works! Any ideas on how to make the stretch and sweep more successful? Thanks!
